Mediation is a process through which people can resolve their differences in a cooperative, mutually agreeable way. Mediation offers a structured setting in which an impartial third party (the mediator) facilitates communication between the parties, allows them to express their needs and interests, helps them stay focused on the issues to be resolved and looks for common ground for settlement. In mediation, the parties provide the information and are responsible for their own decisions. The Center for Solutions requires participants to agree to full disclosure of all pertinent information. Mediation helps participants reach mutually agreeable solutions that are tailored to their specific situation. Mediation is an efficient and cost-effective method for the resolution of simple and complex disputes. It is voluntary and confidential. The process enhances the possibility of a future working relationship between/among the involved persons.
